Lana has come to Dreams beyond her regular days to help our Program Supervisor, Vanessa, to assemble bracelets for our Simply Beautiful jewellery line! The bracelets that are created are a huge aspect of our fundraising! Not only do members learn about colours, numbers and patterning by making bracelets, but they also get the opportunity to practice math and customer service when raising money to support Dreams! Lana’s hard work and dedication in the Simply Beautiful Studio is definitely appreciated!

Beyond the Label
If you know about The Centre for Dreams, you definitely know about Beyond the Label! Beyond the Label (BTL) is a campaign that looks past peoples’ disabilities and focuses on their ABILITIES. One aspect of Beyond the Label is raising awareness through outreach! Over the past 3 years that Beyond the Label has been part of Dreams, it has grown to be a great phenomenon! In 2016 alone, there were 65 BTL presentations done to spread awareness to 1324 people! 91% of these people have reported having an increased understanding in the potential of those living with developmental disabilities. There has been 45 pieces of travelling art distributed around the world. This includes countries such as Australia, Ireland and Hong Kong! Overall, there have been 1251 pledges to live Beyond the Label. 62 of those pledges come from international superstars! We look forward to more BTL success in the future!
BTL Work Placements
Our members’ volunteer work placements have become a large part of our Beyond the Label campaign and The Centre for Dreams program. The campaign has been running for 3 years now and we have successfully attained 9 work placements for our members! Our work placements allow our members to take the job skills that they have learned in program and apply them to real work placement scenarios.
